Very much part of the Edwardian railway scene. The open carriage truck was used for the transport of horse drawn or motor road vehicles, traditionally the Gentlemen's carriage. These vehicles were long lived, the last being scraped in 1953. The carriage truck was fully fitted for conveyance in passenger trains and was seen throughout the country.
