We have drawn up this page to list the paint and transfers required to complete your wagon. We have included details for all the liveries likely to have been used on North British wagons during their life time. North British Railway to 1923
Wagon body colour and iron work grey, brake van ends red with white lettering. Iron below the solebar black. The shade of grey was geneally adark grey but some wagons were painted a light frey. Refrigerator vans, yeast vans and fish trucks brown with yellow lettering.

London and North Eastern Railway 1923 to 1948
Unfitted stock grey, black iron work beneath the solebar with white lettering. Fittd stock red oxide with black iron work beneath the solebar.

British Railways from 1948
Many unfitted wagons bare timber or painted light grey, lettering white on a black patch. No body iron work was painted black. Fitted stock bauxite with solebars often black, roofs dark grey; white lettering.
