Cambrian Railways to 1923
Wagon body colour dark grey (probably similar to the Midland Railway), body iron work grey, iron work beneath the solebar black, white lettering. The brake van ends were usually red. Outside framed goods vans had all ironwork, underframes as well as outer-faces of stanchions and body framing painted black with white lettering shaded black.

Great Western Railway 1923 to 1948
Dark grey, black iron work beneath the solebar with white lettering.
