Believed to have been built around 1880 these 4 plank wagons were described by the Furness Railway as 10 ton open goods wagon. They were fitted with single shoe brake gear, initially on one side only. and would have been altered to single shoe both sides at a later date, probably around the turn of the century. It is understood that some 30 were built. These vehicles were used for general merchandise traffic and would have been a common sight in Northern West England and probably industrial Scotland. Their lifespan is not known but several examples lastly until the early fifties, believed to be in private ownership, working in steel manufacturing plant.
